I know. I abandoned my poor blog and basically the ENTIRE internet last year. I'm sorry. I needed it.
2014 took a major down turn around spring last year for me, in a pretty unexpected and out of the blue way. When things aren't going good and I'm down I'm inclined to shut myself away rather than share. Also, minimal access to internet for a while kind of forced my extended hiatus! Anyway, NOT having constant access wasn't completely terrible... it gave me another perspective.
But despite unexpected difficulties making 2014 a terrible year, some EXCELLENT stuff happened too making the end of it one of the best. A LOT of changes including:
A NEW JOB! if you've ever followed me on twitter over the last five years you may just have heard me whine about how much I hated my retail job. Somehow I managed to land myself a job in a specialist Further Education College in September working with THE most amazing group of young adults ever. it's impossible to hate being at work. Plus, I now get ALL the holidays.
So what else has been going on? Well I became the parent of an ADULT when my eldest turned eighteen. And realised I'd turned into my mother when I spent the last 3 months nagging about Ucas applications (he did make the deadline...just) The other one turned 10, and took the look of disdain to a whole new level.
I finished my third OU course...but have decided to reassess which degree I want to apply them too. I think a more work specific subject would be more useful now. I'm having a year out to decide and concentrate on other stuff. Like driving...I'm determined I'll have passed my test by summer.
I've been cooking quite a lot. I've become pretty damn good at cooking on a budget. I'll probably blog about this. And other stuff. I've also got quite crafty...in the arty sense, also on a budget and one of my goals for 2015 is to learn to crochet so I can complete one of my Nana's unfinished projects . so I may blog about this. I've had loads of ideas for blogging in the last few weeks, which eventually brought me back to my little corner of the net.
I still read, and there'll definitely be book reviews going up and bookish posts. I won't be dedicating the blog to this genre or that anymore...it's just whatever book takes my fancy. At the minute I'm really into psychological thrillers, but I'm flaky and I'm sure I'll change my mind again soon. Expect books from Kids (My little Lu is 10 and a massive David Walliams fan...I'm always trying to encourage her to try something else!) Young Adult to Adult.
So, there it is. That's my plans for blogging in 2015. In a nutshell, I miss bloggy friends, I miss blogging but realised a much more relaxed approach is for me.
